Beyond Morning Philosophy

Our Philosophy

We believe that all life stories deserve to be told. This includes the young, the dying, the healthy and everyone in between.

We believe that no one should die alone. Everyone should have support and compassionate care during the dying, death and grieving process.

We believe in treating everyone with dignity, respect and kindness.

We believe that life storytelling is a sacred and high calling, and we take our work seriously.

We believe that all people deserve access to our death doula services, regardless of financial ability.

Our Motivation

It is important that those who engage with Beyond Morning understand that we respect the needs and beliefs of all people. No one is denied services based upon financial ability, faith, sexual orientation, gender, etc. That said, it may be apparent at times that our motivation for the work we do is that of a faith based, Judeo-Christian background, founded on the basis of this description of God:

“… the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”

2 Corinthians 1:3

Because of this, we believe that God is the God off all comfort and offers it to ALL people, regardless of creed, faith or belief. So, as we write a life’s story or sit bedside with a terminally ill client, we do so without agenda or discrimination, motivated only by a respect for people and who we believe to God to be. We will share the Christian Gospel with those IF asked, respect those who don’t and support both equally.

We ask that before disengaging with our services based upon this core belief, please allow us to have a conversation about how we can best serve you.
